PeckhamRemovals SE15

Peckham · Peckham Rye · Nunhead · SE15

Peckham removals,
done properly.

Flats above the shops, conversions behind them, terraces around the Rye and rooms out of shared houses. We move all of it, on streets where the difficult part is rarely the furniture.

  • Two people minimum on anything with furniture in it
  • Surveyed before it is quoted — nothing invented on the day
  • Storage for the gap between one tenancy and the next

What moving here is actually like

Moving around Peckham

Four things shape a move in SE15 more than the furniture does: the street, the staircase, whether you are moving a room or a household, and the gap at the end. Everything we plan comes out of those.

01

The street decides the day

Rye Lane is busy from early to late and there is nowhere obvious to put a lorry. On the terraces behind it the parked cars leave one van width. On the estates near Queens Road the loading bay and the lift booking matter more than anything in the flat. We work out which of those you have before quoting, because it changes the crew, the vehicle and the start time.

02

Conversions, not flats

Most of the flats in SE15 are houses cut into pieces. That means a communal stair built for one family, a turn on the half landing, and a front door that opens against the staircase. Sofas come apart or go through a window more often here than almost anywhere else we work, and the survey is where that gets established rather than discovered.

03

Rooms, not households

A large share of moving in this postcode is one room at a time — somebody leaving a share, somebody joining it, a student going home for the summer. That is a different job from a household move and it is priced as one, with two people and a van rather than a full crew.

04

The gap between tenancies

Almost nobody in SE15 moves out on a Friday and into the next place the same afternoon. There is usually a week, sometimes a month. Storage bridges it, and arranging it in advance is the difference between a plan and a friend's hallway full of boxes.

What we do

Five services, one European arm

01

Flat & conversion moves

The bulk of SE15

Victorian conversions, ex-council maisonettes and the newer blocks off Rye Lane. Narrow communal stairs, shared entrances and a loading question on almost every street.

→
02

House removals

Terraces and Rye-side houses

Whole households out of the terraces around Bellenden, Nunhead and Peckham Rye — including the ones with a basement, a loft conversion and forty years of accumulation.

→
03

Man and van

One room, one piece, one deadline

Two people and a van for part-loads, single items, studio flats and the marketplace collections that make up half the moving in this postcode.

→
04

Share & student moves

Room by room

House shares change one room at a time here. We move a single room out of a shared house without disturbing anybody else in it, and store it if the next place is not ready.

→
05

Packing & storage

Materials, wrapping, a gap covered

Packing at whatever level you actually need, and storage for the fortnight between a tenancy ending and the next one starting — which in SE15 is most moves.

→
06

International removals

Out of the country

Peckham to France, Spain, Italy and Portugal — export packing, the customs file and delivery at the far end.

Where we work

SE15, and where it ends

Peckham, Peckham Rye and Nunhead are ours and we know them street by street. The areas around them have their own removals firms, and for a move that starts and finishes over one of those borders we will say so rather than take the booking.

Peckham & Rye Lane

SE15

Flats above the shops, conversions behind them, and a high street that is busy from morning to late. Loading is timed around the traffic rather than the furniture.

Bellenden & Holly Grove

SE15

The conservation streets — Victorian terraces with original doors, tiled paths and narrow halls. Slow, careful loading and floor protection that actually gets used.

Peckham Rye & the Common

SE15 / SE22

Larger Victorian houses on the park side, most with a basement or a loft conversion, and two or three flights between the top room and the van.

Nunhead

SE15

Quieter streets, steeper hills, and terraces that get tighter the further up you go. The parking is better than Rye Lane and the gradients are worse.

Queens Road & the north

SE15 / SE14

Ex-council estates and newer blocks near the Overground, where the lift, the bay and the concierge decide the day before the furniture does.

Camberwell edge

SE5

We work up to the Camberwell border; the area itself has its own removals firm and we point local moves that way rather than competing for them.

East Dulwich edge

SE22

Lordship Lane and the streets between are ordinary work from here — bigger houses, better parking, and a school run that sets the start time.

New Cross & Brockley edge

SE14 / SE4

Student and share moves mostly, with the Overground doing the commuting. Easy to reach, and busy in the same weeks every year.

Further out we still travel — a Peckham load goes anywhere in the country, and out of it. The coverage page goes street by street.

The European arm

Leaving the country, not just the postcode

A move abroad from SE15 starts the same way a move to Nunhead does — a survey, an inventory, a plan. What changes is the customs file, and it has a much longer lead time than the packing.

Peckham to France

Paris, Normandy, the Loire and the south-west — out through Kent and across.

Peckham to Spain

Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Andalucía, overland through France and Irún.

Peckham to Italy

Milan, the lakes, Tuscany and Rome, by Alpine tunnel or the Ligurian coast.

Peckham to Portugal

Lisbon, Porto, the Silver Coast and the Algarve, the long way across Iberia.

How a European move runs →

Worth knowing

Moving in SE15, asked and answered

The questions that come up on almost every first call, answered without hedging.

Can you park on our street?

That is the first thing we check, and around Rye Lane and the terraces behind it the answer is frequently "not outside". Where a bay needs suspending we tell you who arranges it; where it does not, we work out the carry distance and put the right crew on the job.

Our flat is a Victorian conversion with a shared stair.

That describes most of SE15 and it is entirely normal work. What matters is the turn on the half landing and whether the front door opens against the staircase — both are survey questions, and both decide whether a sofa comes apart, goes through a window, or does not go at all.

Do you move single rooms out of a house share?

Constantly. It is a man-and-van job rather than a removal: two people, a van, the same wrapping, and no disruption to the other people living there. Say which room and which floor when you get in touch.

How do you price a move?

A survey first — in person, or by video for a room or a studio — then a written quote setting out what is included and what would change it. No figures given over the phone from a guess at how much there is.

Can you store things between tenancies?

Yes, and in this postcode it comes up on most moves. Goods are inventoried as they are loaded, held, and delivered when the next place is ready. Arranging it in advance is much easier than arranging it on the day.

Do you cover Camberwell, Dulwich and New Cross?

We work up to those edges and deliver into them regularly. Camberwell, Dulwich, Lewisham and Brixton all have their own removals firms, though, and for a move that starts and finishes inside one of those we will point you there instead.

Do you do European moves?

Four countries — France, Spain, Italy and Portugal — route-paired from Peckham. Ordinary removals with a customs file attached, and the file has a longer lead time than the packing.

Tell us what you are moving and when.

A survey costs nothing and turns an estimate into a written quote. Rooms, floors, parking and dates is all we need to start.
