Questions
Asked often, answered plainly
If it is not here, ring and ask. The questions people worry about most — what happens if a sofa will not fit, what happens if the dates move — are exactly the ones to settle before booking.
SE15, specifically
Parking, communal stairs, single rooms, weekends and the gap between tenancies.
Will a van fit on our street?
On the terraces behind Rye Lane, rarely right outside. The answer is a suspended bay arranged in advance, an early start before the parking fills, or a longer carry from where the vehicle can legally stand. We decide which at survey.
Our sofa came in before the stairs were boxed in.
Then it may not be coming out the same way, and that is a normal finding in a Victorian conversion rather than a disaster. Dismantle it, take it through a window where the building allows, or leave it — we say which at survey, not on the morning.
Can you move just my room out of a house share?
Constantly, and quietly. We work to the room rather than the property, use the communal parts quickly, and leave the shared spaces as we found them.
Is weekend moving normal here?
Very. A good share of SE15 moves happen on a Saturday or a Sunday because that is when tenancies turn over and when people are actually free. Some buildings restrict weekend moves in the lease, so check yours.
Our next place is not ready for two weeks.
That describes most moves in this postcode. The load goes into storage, inventoried as it is packed, and comes out when the new place exists. Arranged in advance it is a line on the quote.
Do you cover Camberwell, Dulwich and Brixton?
We deliver into all of them and work right up to their edges. Each has its own removals firm, though, and for a move that starts and finishes inside one of those areas we will point you there instead of taking the booking.
Is there another Peckham removals site?
Yes — a second firm covers the same postcode in a lighter, quieter register. Ask us both the same three questions and go with whoever answers them straight.
Moving, packing and everything else
Quotes, inclusions, cover, claims, storage and what we will not carry.
Can you park on our street?
That is the first thing we check, and around Rye Lane and the terraces behind it the answer is frequently "not outside". Where a bay needs suspending we tell you who arranges it; where it does not, we work out the carry distance and put the right crew on the job.
Our flat is a Victorian conversion with a shared stair.
That describes most of SE15 and it is entirely normal work. What matters is the turn on the half landing and whether the front door opens against the staircase — both are survey questions, and both decide whether a sofa comes apart, goes through a window, or does not go at all.
Do you move single rooms out of a house share?
Constantly. It is a man-and-van job rather than a removal: two people, a van, the same wrapping, and no disruption to the other people living there. Say which room and which floor when you get in touch.
How do you price a move?
A survey first — in person, or by video for a room or a studio — then a written quote setting out what is included and what would change it. No figures given over the phone from a guess at how much there is.
Can you store things between tenancies?
Yes, and in this postcode it comes up on most moves. Goods are inventoried as they are loaded, held, and delivered when the next place is ready. Arranging it in advance is much easier than arranging it on the day.
Do you cover Camberwell, Dulwich and New Cross?
We work up to those edges and deliver into them regularly. Camberwell, Dulwich, Lewisham and Brixton all have their own removals firms, though, and for a move that starts and finishes inside one of those we will point you there instead.
Do you do European moves?
Four countries — France, Spain, Italy and Portugal — route-paired from Peckham. Ordinary removals with a customs file attached, and the file has a longer lead time than the packing.
Are you insured?
Goods-in-transit and public liability cover are in place, with the limits — including any per-item limit — stated on your quote. Own something worth more than that limit? Declare it at survey so the right cover exists before the day.
Who actually turns up?
Our own crew in our own van. Nothing is sold on to whoever is free that morning. Where a job genuinely needs extra hands, that is on the quote with the reason.
Do you offer video surveys?
Yes, and for a room, a studio or a one-bed they work perfectly well. For a full house with a basement and a loft, standing in it beats looking at a phone.
What if something is damaged?
Note it on the paperwork at delivery while the crew is there and confirm it in writing. The claims process and the reporting window are in the booking terms. Keep the packaging until the claim is assessed.
Can clothes stay in the drawers?
In a sound chest of drawers, usually. Not in a wardrobe — wardrobe cartons come as standard so clothes travel hanging.
Is there anything you will not move?
Anything flammable, explosive or corrosive; gas bottles, paint, solvents, fuel; perishables; plants and anything living; firearms. Pets travel with you.
Do you do house clearance?
No. Clearance means disposing of waste, which needs a carrier licence we do not hold. We move and we store; for a clearance, use a licensed firm.
Still not answered?
Flat removals covers the communal-stair problem properly. Share moves deals with single rooms. Packing and storage explains the four levels, and international removals handles the customs side.

One more question is free. So is the survey.
Ring with the awkward one — the sofa, the staircase, the street with nowhere to park.
